URLtoMD.in provides a free online tool that converts any publicly accessible webpage URL into clean Markdown or plain text format. The tool uses the Jina AI Reader API (r.jina.ai) to fetch and process webpage content. URLtoMD is provided free of charge with no registration requirement.
URLtoMD also provides a Bulk URL Converter feature that allows conversion of up to 10 URLs in a single batch session.
3. Permitted Use
You are permitted to use URLtoMD for:
- Personal research, note-taking and content archiving for your own use
- Feeding webpage content into AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for personal or commercial analysis
- Extracting content from webpages you own or have explicit permission to extract
- Developer and technical use including building pipelines, knowledge bases and automation tools with content you have rights to use
- Academic research and educational purposes in accordance with fair use principles
- Commercial use subject to the restrictions listed in Section 4 below
4. Prohibited Use
You may not use URLtoMD to:
- Infringe copyright: Extract, reproduce or redistribute copyrighted content from third-party websites in a manner that infringes the original publisher's copyright or terms of service
- Bypass paywalls: Circumvent subscription or paywall systems to access content you have not paid for or been granted access to
- Scrape at scale for redistribution: Use the bulk converter or repeated single conversions to systematically extract content from websites for redistribution, resale or publishing without authorisation
- Illegal activity: Use the tool for any purpose that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction or in India
- Malicious use: Submit URLs containing malware, phishing pages or content designed to harm others
- Automated abuse: Use bots, scripts or automated systems to submit large volumes of requests in a way that disrupts the service or places excessive load on the Jina AI API
- Harassment: Extract personal information about individuals from public pages for the purpose of stalking, harassment or any other harmful purpose
5. Intellectual Property and Copyright
URLtoMD is a tool that fetches and formats publicly accessible webpage content. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of any content extracted using URLtoMD complies with applicable copyright law and the terms of service of the source website.
URLtoMD does not endorse or facilitate copyright infringement. The tool is designed for legitimate personal and professional use cases such as AI research, content archiving and developer workflows.
The URLtoMD website design, code, and original written content are the intellectual property of URLtoMD.in. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute the site design or content without permission.
6. Third-Party Services
URLtoMD relies on the following third-party services which have their own terms and conditions:
- Jina AI Reader API — processes URL content extraction. Subject to Jina AI Terms of Service
- Google AdSense — serves advertisements on this site. Subject to Google Terms of Service
URLtoMD is not responsible for the availability, accuracy or policies of these third-party services. If the Jina AI API is unavailable or returns incorrect results, URLtoMD cannot be held liable.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
URLtoMD is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The tool will be available at all times or free from errors
- The converted content will be complete, accurate or suitable for your specific purpose
